1st
Step Interventions was started with the knowledge
that Interventions work and that addicts do not have
to live like they are living - nor do they have to “hit
bottom” before recovery can happen for them.
Love, feelings and facts are the tools that can be used
to motivate the addict to receive help. Families and
friends generally do not know about nor have the training
to utilize these tools in a positive manner. 1st
Step Interventions understands and actually
is able to create a situation in which the addict hears
the message that family and friends become able to give.
1st Step Interventions
is committed to helping families and friends help the
person they love who is suffering with this disease
- a disease that if left untreated, will continue to
wreak havoc on all involved.
Bryan Bowen - Founder
In 1999 Bryan Bowen started Next Step clean and sober living. Next Step clean and sober living grew in reputation to be the premiere operator of sober living facilities in the San Francisco Bay Area. Thru his work at Next Step Bryan has helped hundreds of men and women recover from addiction. Often this work has also involved the addict’s family, friends and coworkers. Bryan has intimate and first hand experience with the difficulties facing individuals in early recovery and the role that the family plays.
Bryan has taken this experience and grown it into helping
those who need assistance in getting an addict into
treatment. When Bryan started 1st
Step Interventions he did it with the conviction
and knowledge that Interventions are the lifeboat brought
to the addict, but that families and friends need help
guiding the lifeboat to the addict.
Treatment programs across the United States recognize
Bryan Bowen as a professional and successful Interventionist.
Bryan is a Board member of the California Association
of Addiction Recovery Resources, the largest organization
in the State of California representing Treatment Programs.
In 2003, Bryan co-founded of The Bridge Foundation for
Recovery, a Public Non-Profit Corporation set up in
Marin County, Ca to provide treatment and sober living
to those who cannot afford it. Bryan is also in recovery
himself.
